Brief Profile of the Speaker:
Shri R K Anil
Former CEO, NMDC Foundation
Shri Anil has been in the community and rural development domain ever since graduating from IRMA, Anand about 24 years ago. He had worked with grassroot NGOs, World Bank supported poverty alleviation projects, and UNDP, across the country focused on promotion of rural livelihoods and people’s collectives. He has been a guest speaker /visiting faculty at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, IIM Lucknow, and DMI Patna. He has consulted with Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives, Vikas Anvesh Foundation, Access Livelihoods, IRMA, and PRADAN. He has published many case studies on social enterprises in agriculture (Farming Futures), on self governed and economically viable CBOs promoted by NGOs (Newsreach), and on rural tourism.
After leaving his last paid job as CEO, NMDC Foundation he has returned to volunteering with like minded not-for-profits like Sewa International and Ekalavya Foundation.
He is presently based in a village with a KVK, near Hyderabad.
His basic education is in engineering and science from BITS, Pilani and Rural Management from IRMA (Anand, Gujarat).
