Prof M M Pant

A PhD in Computational Physics along with a Professional Law Degree, Prof. Pant has been a practitioner in the field of Law, IT-enabled education and IT implementation. Drawing upon his experience in world-class international institutions and having taught in various modes of Face-to-Face, Distance Learning and Technology Enhanced Training.

He believes in the maxim that convergence between various media and technologies would fundamentally alter the way learning would be created, packaged, and delivered to learners. His current activities are all directed towards actual implementation of these new-age educational initiatives.

Prof Pant has been the Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and on the faculty at IIT Kanpur (the premier Engineering institution in India), MLNR Engineering College and on the Faculty & Visiting Professor at University of Western Ontario-Canada. He has been a Visiting Scientist to research centres in Italy, England, Germany & Sweden and has delivered international lectures with about 80 published papers to his credit.

With his interest in Law, backed with practicing of Law in a High Court and his basic training in Science and IT, Prof Pant has been particularly interested in the Cyber Law, Patent & Trade Mark issues, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues etc. and has been involved with many activities, conferences on “Law & IT”.

Emeritus Professor Knowles started his professional career training to teach 3D design at Southfields College, London. After entering into the industry he worked with many leading London designers before setting up his first studio, Mike Knowles and Associates in London in the mid-eighties. A ‘Ruskinite’ he is a passionate believer in the societal value of design and craft skills.

Mike moved to India to develop job creation and export projects and helped establish the In Group. In 2003 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and up until recently headed the India Fellowship. In 2008 he established a Skills Academy for the University of the Arts London in New Delhi and was conferred a Visiting Professor UAL in 2009. In 2010 he was given the responsibility of developing the Sushant School of Design at Ansal University where he was Director for 8 years, growing the school from a handful of students to one of India’s leading Design Schools.

His recent role of Emeritus Professor School of Creativity Rishihood University sets forth exciting opportunities to change the face of Design Education in India at the tertiary level. He is responsible for mentoring a multitude of young scholars into careers within the Creative Industries, both in India and the UK.
