Arunoday Majumder has trained in the social sciences from Presidency College (Kolkata), Asian College of Journalism, Delhi School of Economics and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Prior to joining Rishihood University, he taught at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Bengaluru) and National Law University Meghalaya (Shillong).

Though Arunoday has specialised in sociology yet he is keenly interested and focuses on interdisciplinary pedagogy and research. His research areas include culture, history, politics and religion in Bharat (India).
