Dr Harsh Mahajan

Padma Shri Awardee, Radiologist, Founder and Managing Director, Mahajan Imaging

Dr. Harsh Mahajan, an esteemed radiologist, serves as the Founder and Managing Director of Mahajan Imaging, a chain of diagnostic centers in Delhi. He is also a member of the advisory board at Rishihood University.

Dr. Mahajan earned his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College and MD in Radiology from PGI, Chandigarh. Following a brief tenure at AIIMS, New Delhi, he secured the Rotary International Scholarship, enabling him to pursue a fellowship in MRI at the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, USA, in 1987.

In 1991, Dr. Mahajan established one of India’s initial MRI centers, pioneering the introduction of this technology before major hospitals like AIIMS and PGI had it.

A trailblazer in the field of Imaging in India, Dr. Mahajan is credited with introducing numerous cutting-edge technologies to the country. As a postgraduate teacher and examiner, he extensively travels to deliver lectures on the clinical applications of the latest technologies. Notable speaking engagements include MIT in Boston, Radiology Society of North America in Chicago, and European Society of Radiology in Vienna. He has also lectured in various countries, training over 250 practicing radiologists in his centers.

Dr. Mahajan has received numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri in 2002. In 2012, he served as the National President of the Indian Radiology and Imaging Association. Additionally, he holds positions as a Consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Advisor to UPSC, and member of the Government Committee for Make in India for MRI, among others.
