Dr. Richa Chopra is a Masters in Child Development (Gold Medallist), a Doctorate from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology (Gauhati University) along with an Advance Diploma in Psychological Guidance and Counselling. As the Former Founding Head-In charge, Dept. of Contemplative and Behavioural Sciences at Sri Sri University, Dr. Chopra has been a pioneer in ideating, establishing and executing a plethora of departments and global initiatives, some of which have witnessed world history. She has steered forty-six collaborative projects with various UN & Govt Agencies.
She has also been a core working member for the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) towards developing the ‘Yoga Accreditation Framework’ for Higher Educational Institutions launched at the UN Headquarters in April 2019 and its subsequent release by the (Former) Hon’ble Minister of Education, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal in September 2019. She is also a Peer Team Review member for NAAC.
She recently curated and organized “Ātmanirbhara Bhar̄ata: India in the 21st Century – Faculty Development Programme on Indian Knowledge Systems in Contemporary Education and Practice (4 to 19 November 2020)”, in collaboration with Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education (CPDHE), UGC-HRDC, Delhi University, supported by ICSSR and AICTE.
She is on the advisory role for many a national-international committees pertaining to Contemplative Psychology, Yoga Psychology, Spirituality and Indian Psychology. She also regularly reviews articles for ‘Psychological Studies’ (Springer), ‘Journal of Contemplative Inquiry’ etc. Has a couple of publications to her credit and is a is a regular speaker at various forums. She has directed a thirteen-episode TV series ‘Sparkling Within’ for Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation – the national public broadcaster of the Republic of Mauritius that was launched on June 21 st 2015, the first International Day of Yoga.
Being a Sr. Art of Living International Faculty, she has spent eighteen years in the Art of Living Ashram, Bengaluru and has travelled across eleven countries, transforming lives through the Happiness Program and other Higher-Level courses on Yoga and Meditation.
She has two music albums to her credit and is also currently serving as the Project Lead and Chief Mentor at Drishtee Foundation for a Metlife Foundation, USA funded project.
