Prof. SG Ranjan

Fine Arts and Fashion (Handicrafts & Hand Looms)

Prof SG Ranjan is a Design Educator with Masters in Fine Arts, MSU, Vadodara, Gujarat 1983 and Fashion Alumnus of NIFT, New Delhi. He is empanelled with, Dev. Comm. (Handicrafts & Hand Looms), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and has done an innovative design with DC(H) & DC(HL), UNDP, World Bank, OXFAM, RGF, FICCI, CCIC, HHEC, JMDC, EPCH, IL&FS, CAPART, IRFT & VHAI in India.

He was the Art Director for Living Stone Inlay Design Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Designer for Arabesque Pvt. Ltd., London. Later was Invited by Ministry of Social Development, the Kingdom of Bahrain as Senior advisor 2010. He has served as Dean & Faculty, Indian Institute of Crafts & Design (IICD), Jaipur 2011-15. His close association with design industry as Design Head, Handicrafts Mega Cluster Mission (HMCM), MoT, Govt. of India 2015-17 helps students to understand the requirements of the industry; thus making students ready.

He has been associated as Guest Faculty at Pearl Academy, New Delhi; College of Art, New Delhi; NIFT, Kangra; and IICD, Jaipur.

His work was highly recognized by Bombay Art Society, Mumbai 1980 and is also a recipient of UNESCO Seal of Excellence Award – in 2006. Prof. Ranjan is a renowned creative academician and consultant in France, Switzerland and Bahrain.
