Tim Edgar

School of Creativity

Tim Edgar has been working in the creative arts and education sector for over 35 years. He studied Photography and Related Media in the U.K. in the 1980s and then spent 10 years as a working commercial Photographer. He has an MA in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

He worked at the Arts University Bournemouth for 20 years, as Pathway Leader for Photography and more recently as the Head of School for Preparation for Higher Education, including leading the prestigious Foundation Diploma course. He was the Arts University Bournemouth lead for the 2018 Ofsted inspection which gained the highest “Outstanding” rating overall and in all 4 subcategories.

He is a Lead Moderator for the University Arts London Awarding Body specialising in Foundation Art, Design and Media programmes. He has travelled widely and delivered creative workshops in a variety of institutions in India, China and Japan.

His creative practice has been published in several books, including Insect Theatre (2013) from Black Dog Publishing and really Good Dog Photography (2017) from Hoxton Mini Press / Penguin.

Tim has particular expertise in Art, Design and Media curriculum design and management and the ensuring of robust and quality academic provision.
