The mission of the Centre for Human Sciences, Rishihood University, is to carry forward the vision of the seers and sages of Bharat through various academic programs and activities. The Centre for Human Sciences is dedicated towards contextualizing Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy, Indian Knowledge Systems and Sanskrit to a large number of socio-cultural settings and strengthening India’s soft power with an objective to solve contemporary problems and attain spiritual unity of mankind.
To keep the university aligned with the vision, philosophy, worldview, and cosmology of the seers, sages and the spiritual masters of India.
To facilitate study and research on the sacred texts of Bharat like the Vedas,Upanishads,Tantra, Itihasas, Puranas,Darshanas and others.
To introduce Sanskrit to all learners, faculties and others who are part of the University. It is the language that has given expression to the very soul of Bharat and its spiritual heritage. The centre has various academic and other activities for the promotion of Sanskrit and making the campus vibrant with purity of the sounds of Sanskrit.
To train faculty members in such a manner that they not only become leaders in their respective fields of work, but also develop the wherewithal to develop leaders in the students who think creatively, innovatively, originally, and ingeniously—thinking and being which is cutting-edge and out-of-box.
To create in the university an environment of excellence, accountability, harmony, collegiality, and congeniality among various stakeholders.
To create an atmosphere where faculty members become friend, philosopher, and guide to the learners: a spiritual atmosphere where faculty, staff, and students lead themselves and one another through example.
To explain rationally the spiritual worldview, giving the various stakeholders tools to implement the practice in their daily lives
To make the learners and other participants in the university culturally competent so that they can confidently participate in intercultural exchange, bringing best cultural practices from all over the world in their personal and professional lives.
To become a leading beacon of light in innovative and creative research in India, specifically pertaining to humanities and civilisational studies.
To develop leading graduate programs (M.A. and Ph.D) for training the learners in the field of Indic studies so that they could apply the knowledge gained in the wider academia; and to address the existing lacunae in the Indian educational system.
To become a centre for training corporates so that they can introduce and implement higher spiritual values in their organization, leading a life that is internally and externally harmonious and balanced.
To network with various universities in India and abroad so that it can bring innovative ideas from outside in and vice-versa. It would develop student exchange programs with foreign universities in the spirit of mutual cooperation and benefit.
Sri Aurobindo’s teachings transcend time and space. As we approach the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, on 15th August 2022, this 150 hours course will re ect on his life & diverse works in the elds of politics, Indian civilisation & its renaissance, education, arts & literature, consciousness and evolution, Integral Yoga, Vedas and shastras among many others. It attempts to spread Sri Aurobindo’s knowledge for solving contemporary problems and attaining spiritual unity of mankind.This course will give you an insight on the thoughts of one of the greatest intellectuals to tread amongst us.
The Centre for Human Sciences, Rishihood University, inaugurated an Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR)-sponsored series of lectures on ‘Sri Aurobindo’s Political and Cultural Philosophy: Nationalism and Swaraj’ at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi, to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. It was a grand event that also marked ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in India’s 75th year of Independence.
