About

Saumya Dey holds a PhD in History from the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. His research focuses on intellectual and cultural history and the politics of colonial India. He has authored six books, including Becoming Hindus and Muslims (2015), The Seedbed of Pakistan (2023), The Cultural Landscape of Hindutva (2019/2023), Narrativizing Bhāratvarṣa (2021/2022), Being Hindu (2023), and He received the Jadunath Sarkar Fellowship (2024–25).
