Bindoo is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design. She has about 3 decades of experience in
working for sustainable development of Handicrafts, Handlooms & MSME sectors through
Design. As a designer, she was associated with UNDP, WORLD BANK, OXFAM, FAIR TRADE,
FICCI, CCIC, RSIC, HHEC, EPCH,CAPART, KVIC, Dastkar Haat Samiti, ARUNIM and Sandhi
Craft Foundation.

Bindoo has been a key contributor and jury member for the National Award of Handicrafts. She
is currently on the Advisory Board of All India Board of Art and Craft Design, AICTE, a Taskforce
member with the FICCI Cluster Development initiative. She is also empanelled with the Development
Commissioner of Handicrafts & Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, GOI, KVIC and Ministry of
MSME.

Bindoo has successfully accomplished several design initiatives for a number of handloom clusters,
khadi weaving clusters and craft clusters across India. She is also been passionately involved in the
sustainable development of the special need sectors. She has helped organisations and businesses
with creative solutions for strategies, innovation, training, branding and institution building through
design. She is presently heading the Delhi Centre of National Institute Design.
Bindoo has been awarded SEAL OF EXCELLENCE FOR HANDICRAFTS SOUTH ASIA
PROGRAMME by UNESCO, for my Textile Home collection with handspun and handwoven
Khadi fabric printed and dyed in natural vegetable colours, in 2007.
