Human Body: The Most Advanced Science

Nothing is a more real and humbling experience than shaping a life within you. From the moment of knowing that I have a new life in my body to nurturing it through my body – the entire journey has filled me with immense emotions, experiences, and transformations.

The value of motherhood can’t be expressed in mere words. The most intriguing part is the evolution of the body. As the baby experiences life through the many firsts, a mother’s body redesigns itself to the new needs. For instance, as the baby grows, the composition of the mother’s milk also changes to fulfil the nourishment. The anti-infective properties in breast milk increase if the mother or baby is exposed to a new bacteria or virus.

Not just for a mother but even otherwise, the body constantly grows, adapting to changing weather, places, viruses, and emotional situations. Studies have shown that mood changes and psychological variations impact one’s physical health. For example, under stress, our nervous system is on edge from the fight-or-flight adrenaline and cortisol responses. This affects our blood pressure, heart rate, digestion, and glucose levels. We can have stomach and bowel symptoms.

Interestingly, while the change in feelings can cause the disease, the same can also cure it, as the body attempts to embrace the transitions within and navigate through it all. In so many cases, spiritual healing has cured serious health issues ranging from depression to cancer. A study in the American Journal of Hypertension showed that teenagers who meditated for 15 minutes twice a day for four months were able to lower their blood pressure a few points. Aligning the inner energies reflects on the physical self, too. If we pay keen attention, our body speaks to us, and directs us towards its needs. It has its own Artificial Intelligence that has been built over generations. Using this AI to adapt to the changing needs, the body accordingly designs its functionality.

No science or technology is as advanced as the body. While all of us focus on creating the best futuristic technology, let us parallely keep developing the best technology we are already in control of – the Human Body. Follow the regime of exercising, meditating, eating right, making simple choices that really matter. We all know it, we all have read it, let us also diligently apply it.

So, the next time when someone asks you where you live, tell them, you live in your body.
