Circulation rules:
● Periodicals are for reference and must be read in the library only. They will not be issued.
● Learners can borrow a maximum of 03 (three) books for a period of 15 (fifteen) days.
● Faculty members can borrow a maximum of 06 (six) books per semester.
● Research Scholars can borrow a maximum of 04 (four) books for a period of 15 (fifteen) days.
● Administrative (Non-teaching) staff can borrow a maximum of 02 (two) books for a period of 15 (fifteen) days.
● Reference books can only be borrowed overnight in exceptional circumstances with the recommendation of the Dean of the School.
● Learners can reserve books at the circulation counter if the respective books are already issued.
● Reference books, project reports, thesis (dissertations), periodicals, and bound journals are not issued to members. They can be referred to within the library premises.
● Project reports and dissertations submitted within the last five years are available for reference within the library. Written permission from the Dean of the School concerned is required in such cases.
● Project reports and dissertations cannot be photocopied.
● The University Librarian reserves the right to recall any book issued to the borrower, even before the due date of return, if necessary.
● At the end of every academic session, members must obtain a “No Dues Certificate” from the University Librarian; failure to do so will result in the loss of library membership.
● Borrowers are responsible for safely returning the books to the library. In case of damage, members will have to replace the lost book with a new one or pay the new cost of the lost book/document.
● Stealing or damaging library property or misbehavior with library staff will be considered acts of indiscipline and will result in disciplinary action which may include fines, and cancellation of library membership.
● The library staff is authorized to check the bags and belongings of any member, if needed.
● Non-members or visitors are not permitted to use the library without the permission of the University Librarian.
Late Book Fine (Overdue charges):
● Books returned after the due date will incur overdue charges. For general books and novels, the overdue charges will be ` 5.00 (rupees five only) per day.
● If a member fails to return a book within 07 (seven) days after the stipulated time, it will be considered lost/purchased by the member. The price of the book will be automatically deducted from their pay bill/security deposit.
● If a book is lost, the actual market cost of the book at that time along with an amount of ` 100.00 (rupees one hundred only) as processing charge per book will be levied from the member.
Clearance certificate:
Individuals (Staff members and Learners) leaving Rishihood University must return all library books/journals/documents, settle any dues or fines, and obtain a clearance certificate from the library.
Photocopying:
The library provides photocopying facilities to its users. The following guidelines should be observed:
● Cover-to-cover photocopying of copyrighted documents is not permissible.
● Photocopying from library books/journals should be kept to a minimum. Project codes should be mentioned in the photocopying requests. Learners using this facility are required to pay photocopying charges.
● Photocopying charges are ` 2.00 (rupees two only) per page.
Interlibrary loan & Institutional membership:
The Rishihood University library has inter-library loan arrangements with important libraries in NCR Delhi through the DELNET library. The following rules apply:
● Requests for borrowing documents not available in Rishihood University or other libraries must be made in writing to the library.
● Borrowed books from other libraries must be returned within a week. No fresh loan forms will be issued until the user’s previous inter-library loan account has been settled.
● Fines will be applicable after 15 (fifteen) days from the date of issue of the inter-library loan form by Rishihood University Library if the due date is not specified by the lending library.
● Users must follow the rules and regulations of the lending library.
Resource suggestion:
● Users can send requests for new books, journals, magazines, e-resources, databases, CDs, or other information resources to the library. The maximum ordering details should be provided. Orders can be placed via email or recommendation form.

A reasonable time for procurement and technical processing of the books i.e., 03 (three) and 08 (eight) weeks for Indian and International books respectively will have to be provided. Purchase of documents directly by individuals is discouraged. Duplicate copies are not accepted for the collection.
